Toyota Motor Corp recently acknowledged the dwindling U.S. sedan market and expressed its hope that the new Camry model will help boost sales in this particular segment. While dropping gasoline prices in the United States have prompted many buyers to trade in their smaller vehicles for pick-up trucks and SUVs, Toyota Motor Corp highly doubts that mid-size sedans will disappear completely anytime soon. Come see the all-new Camry today at Royal Palm Toyota.
While other automakers have focused on meeting the growing demand for larger vehicles and pickups, sedan production has been pushed to the back burner. Sedans now make up just 38 percent of the U.S. market for new car sales, as opposed to 44 percent in 2015. Toyota sees this as a potential benefit and has expressed confidence that lack of competition from other automakers in the sedan market will allow the automaker to boost its presence in the segment.
At the launch of the new Camry model in Japan, Masato Katsumata (Camry’s chief engineer), expressed optimism that the automaker will have an opportunity to gain greater control of the sedan market “If other automakers left the sedan market to focus more on SUVs.”
Rehabilitating a Fading Segment
Toyota has a strong presence in the sedan market. In the first half of 2017 alone, smaller models like the Camry brought in over 43.5 percent of the total sales for the renowned automaker. The redesign of the Toyota will help boost consumer confidence in the brand.
Once the new Camry goes on sale in August, Toyota is shooting for 30,000 sales of the new vehicle each month in the United States. The Camry is ready to be the leading sedan with its high performing engine and sleek design. Get yourself a first look this month at Royal Palm Toyota!
The mid-size pickup truck class is hotly contested these days. While the Toyota Tacoma ruled the roost for years without serious competition, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline is quite the contender, with a comfortable cabin and a car-like ride. Can the Ridgeline keep up? Take a look as we Royal Palm Toyota examine how they stack up against each other.
On or Off-Road?
The Tacoma is a conventional body-on-frame pickup truck, while the Ridgeline uses unibody construction. Although Tacoma gets the nod on the toughest off-road trails, the Ridgeline almost keeps up off the beaten path. On paved roads, the Tacoma again excels where it delivers superior ride and handling.
The Tacoma is offered with a 159 horsepower 2.7-liter inline four cylinder or a 278 horsepower 3.5-liter V6. All Ridgelines are equipped with a 280 horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine, giving them a two-horsepower advantage.
The most fuel efficient 2017 Tacoma is EPA rated at 19 city/24 highway miles per gallon when equipped with two-wheel-drive and the 3.5-liter V6 engine. The Ridgeline delivers a slightly higher level of efficiency out on the open road, with the front-wheel-drive model rated at 19 city/26 highway.
The Tacoma’s cargo bed is work-oriented, with a handy optional sliding tie-down system. The Ridgeline gets the job done, but it’s all about the Tacoma’s party, with a cooler-like space below the cargo floor (complete with drain plug), optional speakers stealthily built into the cargo bed walls, and an innovative two-way tailgate. The Tacoma takes the reigns on this one.
If you are looking for a truck, the 2017 Tacoma is the way to go. Stop by Royal Palm Toyota to check out all the cool features and take a test drive today!

When the Toyota C-HR first debuted at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show as a concept car, it was designed for the Scion brand. When Scion was shuttered, the C-HR found a happy home in the Toyota lineup, along with the iM hatchback and iA sedan. With a new marketing push, it’s starting to take off and Royal Palm Toyota wants you to take a look.
C-HR stands for “Coupe High-Rider” and its unique exterior appeals to buyers who crave an aggressive appearance. Some consider it to be the most distinctively designed subcompact crossover on the market today, thanks to its dramatic, windswept lines. Needless to say, it’s not a nondescript blob. While Toyota has been known for conservative designs in the past, the C-HR takes a radical departure.
Toyota is targeting millennial buyers with the C-HR; this group is younger than the typical Toyota buyer. And they’re running a unique marketing campaign, with a focus on YouTube, MTV, and the social networks. Of course, you don’t have to be a millennial to appreciate exciting design. The C-HR is a cool ride for kids of all ages!
All C-HRs come standard with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, hands-free Bluetooth, dual-zone HVAC, and remote keyless entry. The Toyota Safety Sense P™ (TSS-P) technology suite is standard, with radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, and automatic high beams. The C-HR XLE Premium adds blind spot mirrors and rear cross-traffic alert.
The C-HR is the least expensive crossover in the Toyota lineup but that does not mean it falls short in terms of performance and ratings. Toyota’s legendary reliability and an official EPA fuel economy rating of 27 city/31 highway make the C-HR a sure bet to keep costs down over the long term. Come test drive this beautiful and efficient ride today at Royal Palm Toyota, we are excited to see you soon.
