Toyota’s 2017 RAV4 Is Celebrating 20+ Years in America with a Hybrid

Toyota first debuted its RAV4 over 20 years ago, when it practically invented the compact crossover SUV. Since then, the car has undergone changes that make it nearly unrecognizable from early models. This year, Toyota takes the RAV4 into hybrid territory. Come down to Royal Palm Toyota to check out all the great features the RAV4 below has to offer.

Engine and Performance

The RAV4 Hybrid comes with all-wheel drive and an intelligent coupling of a 150-hp, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 141-hp, permanent-magnet electric motor that uses the traditional Toyota continuously variable transmission (CVT) automatically. That’s just the power plant for the front wheels; the rear wheels have no mechanical connection to the front and are powered by a 67-hp electric motor.

This is Toyota’s innovative way of managing the front-to-rear power split, which entails everything from wheel spin to steering wheel position, all so the RAV4 can make lightning-fast adjustments to how much power the car is using and where it’s using it.

The new all-wheel drive system allows for regenerative braking, a process by which the car uses stored energy from the brakes and feeds it back to the onboard motors, saving gas and electricity.

The Interior

On the inside, Toyota made a few key changes to the RAV4 that drivers are sure to love. There’s a new instrument panel with a 4.2-inch display alongside the speedometer, and the entire dash has a softer appearance thanks to some new styling and two new colors: Cinnamon and nutmeg.

A Renewed Appearance

The all-new RAV4 has an improved front end with a raised hood, a sleek and slim grille, and pseudo-skid plates. Compared to previous models, the 2017 RAV4 has a more truck-like appearance, thanks to its higher, wider profile.

Despite the slight addition of bulk, purists will find the car conventionally attractive. The bumper is subtle, and the car doesn’t step out of line in the design department. It looks quiet, capable, and able to handle whatever you throw at it.

2017 Toyota Sienna: Boosting the Minivan

The 2017 Toyota Sienna introduces exciting new features that allow for increased speed and power for the minivan. Equipped with 3.5-liter V6 DOHC 24-valve engine that produces 296 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque, the 2017 Sienna‘s 30 horsepower increase from its predecessor is sure to please anyone who wants the utility of a minivan with a need for speed.

The transmission of the 2017 Sienna has been upgraded to an eight-speed automatic that contributes to an improved fuel economy, getting 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

The exterior and interior features remain relatively unchanged, maintaining the great looking body and technologically advanced features and high-quality comfort within the cabin that the Sienna has been known for.

Stop by Royal Palm Toyota to schedule a test drive in the 2017 Toyota Sienna when it arrives in showrooms.

The 2017 Toyota Sequoia has a lot to offer the way of spaciousness, updated technology, and cosmetic alterations. With detailed refinements incorporated all throughout, the 2017 Sequoia has undergone more than just a facelift. From the outside, it’s clear to see that the radiator grille has been widened and stretches across the length of the hood, the grille has been designed with an aluminum surround, and Bi-xenon headlights were installed to improve road illumination. All of these changes are just the beginning.

Inside the cabin, the seating is wide and spacious, and the padding is comfortable. The interior’s style is attractive with its stylish materials and smooth surfaces. A modern multimedia LED touch screen has been installed in the wells. While it may seem that the number of buttons and gadgets within the 2017 Sequoia may be overwhelming, Toyota made sure to compartmentalize the array of options in a functional way that leaves drivers and passengers in a stress-free zone.

The 6-speed automatic transmission that operates the Sequoia is powered by a 5.7-liter engine that produces 400 horsepower and 440lb-ft of torque. It gets *13 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway. This modified Toyota Sequoia delivers when it comes to utility and style.

Interior changes include a new steering wheel, a new dashboard that is paired with whatever the color of the car is, and a 4.2-inch screen. Updates also include a redesigned center console that houses the multimedia system with touch controls and a 9-inch touchscreen.

Inside the cabin, the steering wheel has changed, a new dashboard based on the color of the car and a 4.2″ screen is fitted. Also, the center console has become more modern, and its main purpose is to house the multimedia system with touch controls and the 9″ touchscreen. Climate control systems have been integrated with a wide variety of choices.

Under the hood sits a 5.7-liter V8 engine that produces 381 brake horsepower and 543Nm of torque that is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This new design enables the 2017 Land Cruiser to get *13 mpg in the city and 18 on the highway.

The 2017 Toyota Highlander has undergone its first significant update in several years. Its most groundbreaking alteration is the new, direct-injected V-6 engine that is operated by an eight-speed automatic transmission. As with tradition, the Highlander will offer a choice of three powertrains: a 2.7-liter four-cylinder with FWD only, a V-6 with FWD and AWD drive, and a gas-electric hybrid model.

Its new V-6 engine has profited off of receiving two additional gears in its automatic transmission. Toyota has also added auto stop-start as a way to increase fuel efficiency. The safety equipment that comes standard with each trim level is lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam lights. The blind-spot warning system is also included, while the top-spec Limited Platinum trim will gain a 360-degree-view monitor. Another notable change made that has taken the passengers into consideration is the inclusion of 5 USB ports.

With *20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, this model is one of the most fuel efficient SUVs that Toyota has to offer. Keep an eye out for the fantastic 2017 Highlander because it is rolling into dealerships this fall.

The 2017 Toyota 4Runner has been redesigned with a sharp, sleek exterior that can’t go by unnoticed. It’s still as practical and comfortable as ever on the inside. With a 4.0-liter V6 engine that is operated by a 6-speed automatic transmission, the 2017 4Runner produces a hefty 270 horsepower and 278lb-ft of torque. It gets *17 mpg in the city and 22 on the highway. The 4Runner comes standard with FWD or AWD.

Some of the most major changes to the 4Runner have taken place on the inside. A 6.1-inch infotainment system has been installed and made standard on the LE, SE, and XLE trims, but limited models receive a 7.0-inch unit. The Entune system, which enables your smartphone to connect to the head unit, has been integrated along with Bluetooth connectivity, eight-way power driver’s seat, Siri Eyes Free, which enables voice control of an iOS mobile device that is linked to a car’s in-dash audio system, and a rearview camera, just to name a few.

The interior cabin design is consistent with the 4Runner‘s reputation of being stylish and spacious. User-friendly knobs and buttons are draped throughout, and the front seats are power adjustable and provide comfortable support.

One is a 3.5-liter V6 that can produce 280 horsepower, and the other is a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder that churns out 160 horsepower, each operated by a 6-speed automatic transmission.
