Trim levels, also called grades, are different versions of the same car with varying features. All car buyers have different priorities when it comes to features in their cars. Some may say that leather seats are essential, while others say that a backup camera is a must. As a result, automakers create a base model and then offer several trim levels from there. For example, the 2015 Toyota Camry has four different trim levels from which car buyers can choose from.
The Toyota Camry LE is the base trim level. This four-door sedan comes with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Standard exterior features include halogen headlights, daytime running lights, and heated power outside mirrors.
Interior features include air conditioning, an audio system, a backup camera, fabric seats, cruise control, an analog instrument panel, power door locks, power windows, and two 12-volt auxiliary power outlets. The safety features on the LE include 10 airbags, child-protecting rear door and window locks, front and rear crumple zones, and Whiplash-Injury-Lessening seats.
After the LE, the next trim level for the Camry is the SE. The SE comes with the same engine and transmission and the same standard exterior features as the LE. However, additional exterior features on the SE include a sport mesh front grille, a rear spoiler, and a chrome-tipped exhaust.
Furthermore, along with the same interior features as the LE, the SE comes with a leather-trimmed steering wheel, an Optitron instrument panel for better clarity, and silver interior trim.
Finally, the SE enjoys the same safety features as the LE and a Tire Pressure Monitor System with pressure readout.
The XSE is the third trim level in the Camry line. While the same 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed automatic transmission are available for the XSE, you also have the choice of a 3.5-liter V6 engine. Other standard exterior features on the XSE are LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, a power tilt and slide moonroof, and a noise-reducing front windshield.
Standard interior features on the XSE include dual-zone automatic climate control, a premium audio and navigation system, a Smart Key System, and a push button start. The XSE comes with the same standard safety features as the LE and SE.
The top trim level is the Toyota Camry XLE . This sedan comes with the same options for engine and transmission and the same standard exterior features as the XSE. Along with the standard interior features from the previous trim levels, you also get leather-trimmed and heated front seats and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a compass. Finally, the XLE also enjoys the same safety features as the other trim levels.
